About Alex Batzli
I graduated top of my class from the THE MARINE MECHANIC INSTITUTE in Orlando, Florida US.
I experienced over 1500 hours of intense hands on training. I learned how to work on all types of engines and on board computer systems. (a complete list can be found HERE). My specialty and first love is the Mercury/Mariner/Mercruiser.
I returned to the UK and worked at BARRUS the only Mercury/Mariner/Mercruiser Distributor in UK as a Certified Technician. I worked not only as a technician, but supplied dealer support around the UK.
In my time working with Barrus gave me opportunity to continue my factory training in UK and in Belgium where the Mercury/Mercruiser Europe HQ is locateted and to work with the best technicians in all of Europe; including Tim Bennett(Mercury/Mariner Outboard),Lee Allen(Mercury/Mariner Outboard/Mercruiser) and Jonathan Hay(Mercruiser).
After few months on the job I not only doing warranty jobs as a technician also supplied dealer support and began help Tim Bennett with training for dealer’s technicians and the dealers themselves. At Barrus we had our own training school, giving traning for intire UK.
If the dealer could not sort the problem they send the engine for me. I spent countless hours going from impossible engine problems to unsolvable engine issues…. And yes I fixed them all.
I am also very skilled at the computer technology that connects all of the systems and engines on board most boats. I am tenacious and will stick with your problem to a conclusion that makes sense for you and your craft.
